TechCrunch Now Proudly Says “You’ve Got Mail”
Within the technology and startup world there is a giant and its name is TechCrunch, one of the top technology and startup blogs according to Technorati, a company that rates blogs. Today, TechCrunch announced at its Disrupt Conference that is has been bought by global online Internet service AOL, previously known as American Online.
The purchase of TechCrunch is a prime example of the importance of blogs in today’s direct to consumer approach to online marketing and the affect these kinds of blogs can have on consumer’s behaviors. The main point: we can all be online publishers, which Michael Arrington, founder of TechCrunch and former lawyer, realized early and is now reaping the benefits.
While perhaps none of Piehead’s clients start a blog with the plans of their posts being purchased, the TechCrunch story does show how blogs can engage customers and have a tremendous amount of success and reach. The ability to quickly post news and thought leadership topics from a central management platform, such as WordPress, makes blogging an essential component to delivering messaging to current customers and reaching new ones – all in real-time.
If you already have a blog, here are some Piehead tips for success (many more are available for the asking (cbarbierri@piehead.com)
