As of last week, people are able to tag Facebook Pages within their photos. Now, not only can you tag yourself and friends, you can also tag the brand responsible for the pair of jeans you’re wearing in the photo, for example.

Luckily, users need not be concerned about shifts in privacy, as the same settings applied to your photos previously will be respected. According to Facebook, if you designate tagged photos as visible to everyone, they will appear on the Photo tab within company pages and be visible to admins of the page.

For now, the feature is being rolled out to Brand/Company and People Pages, with plans to expand to other categories eventually. Though this new feature holds promise for brands and businesses, it will be interesting to see how people and brands will use it.
